Macromolecular Pathology

Focus

The Macromolecular Pathology working group is focused on mapping the spatial distribution and temporal dynamics of iron deposition, which may offer important insights and – if sufficiently robust – could even offer a disease-monitoring tool. It aims at a systematic calibration of quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and apparent transverse relaxation rate (R2*) estimates from multiple sites, with the view of establishing these methods for large-scale research studies and clinical trials using 7T imaging.

Topics of interest include:

  • Imaging iron deposition using quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and apparent transverse relaxation rate (R2*)
